Last January, I finished my version of Julie Herman’s Night Sky Quilt. You can read my previous posts about the inspiration, progress and finished top.

I sent the top off to Teresa of Quilting is my Bliss to be quilted and she did an AMAZING job. Get ready for lots of pictures!

Einstein decided to be part of my photo shoot!

She quilted a couple of different designs in the stars.

I used a few of my leftover strips for the backing.

I also used some of my printable fabric to add a label into the backing.  I’ve never done that before, and I liked having the labeling done with the quilting.

Teresa used different colors for the different blocks which made the back look pretty awesome too.

This might be my favorite quilt so far.  Now to decide if I’m going to hang it or just snuggle with it!

  • Looks great – I love the colors in this quilt. I was fortunate enough to get to take a class from Julie of Jaybird Quilts in February; her rulers and instructions make tricky Y seams disappear. Congratulations on the finish!

  • I just love this quilt! The colors are so cool! And the quilting is wonderful

  • Lovely quilt, the bright colours you’ve chosen for the stars really stand out against the dark fabric and then the quilting just adds a whole other dimension – I love the hexagon shape that’s been done around the stars, it must have the most beautiful texture!

  • I love Julie’s quilts. You did a beautiful job putting it together, and your quilter did great.

  • Teresa Silva

Wow…this did turn out fantastic! Love this quilt so much.

  • Stunningly beautiful! Wow, Rachel! This is so drop dead gorgeous! I love how those bright solids pop against the black background. And the quilting is simply amazing! Congratulations!

  • This quilt is just stunning! Beautiful colors and piecing and the quilting is a great compliment.
