Inspiration
Over Christmas break, my mom and I drove a few hours to see Julie of Jaybird Quilts‘ trunk show and ruler demo. I’ve been a big fan of her blog and gorgeous quilts but I hadn’t ever made one myself.
I asked “Santa” for Julie’s two rulers for Christmas: The Hex N’ More and The Sidekick. If you follow me on instagram, you know I received them both – Thanks Mom!
Her quilts are just gorgeous and we really enjoyed hearing about her quilting business.
I know I’ll have to make more than one of these beauties but for now, I’ve decided to make Night Sky. I’m a sucker for solids!
The pattern and fabric for the top came in the mail today. Time to get cutting!
Her pattern is so detailed and well written, it’s inspiring me to write my own. Translating my hand written drawings onto the computer is going to be the tricky part. I recommend picking up a copy of her pattern if you have the chance!
