Christmas Charm Pack Cherry Quilt

Christmas Charm Pack Cherry Quilt

It’s Christmas in…August.  Oops, I totally dropped the ball on making a Christmas in July quilt.  Fabric shops do such a great job tempting me with gorgeous sparkly Christmasy prints this time of year, and I’ve had my eye on Moda’s 25th and Pine line.  Did I resist the urge to buy more fabric…nope!

I bought two charm packs from their line, and two charm packs from their solids line (snow) so that I could make Fat Quarter Shop’s Charm Pack Cherry Quilt.  Since I really loved the prints, I decided I wanted to pick a pattern that wouldn’t slice up pieces into indistinguishable designs.  Charm Pack Cherry fit the bill!

Have you seen any of Fat Quarter Shop’s free shortcut quilts? Kimberly does such an amazing job explaining step by step tutorials on their YouTube channel.  Check it out here!

I started and finished the top yesterday afternoon, spending 4-5 hours piecing the entire top. Didn’t it turn out cute?

I only made one slight modification to the pattern so that I could keep all of my prints right side up.  In hindsight, I should have just randomly placed the prints in all directions.  Darn left-sided brain!

Purchasing fabric for the backing or binding is still on my to-do list, but I’m thinking that I want to use the red and white tree chevron print for the binding.  That’s one of my favorites!

I hope you’re all getting ready for a lovely weekend.  Happy quilting, friends!
