Blogger’s Quilt Festival – Diamonds Are Forever

You’ve probably all heard of the Blogger’s Quilt festival by now, but just in case you haven’t, here’s the scoop.  Around the same time as quilt market, Amy at Amy’s Creative Side hosts a festival celebrating finished quilts  of many of the quilty bloggers out there.  It’s a great place to be inspired! (oh..and win prizes!)
I’m excited to reshare “Diamonds are Forever” as an entry into the mini category.

Diamonds are Forever

This scrappy happy quilt was made with leftover triangles from a table runner that I had made for my mom, which were then stitched them up into half square triangles. I  laid them out on my design wall until I came up with this fun design, emphasizing the diamonds with some straight line stitching.

You can read all about it on my previous post, complete with a second version of “Diamonds are Forever!”

Be sure to visit the festival to vote (beginning November 1st) and for inspiration!

  • Beautifully done! It’s bold, graphic and colorful.

Love the colors and setting of your little hsts.:)

  • Love this quilt!!! I love symmetry so much, until I see something asymmetrical I like just as well or better.

  • Love the off set and the quilting!

  • Simple, yet sharp. Love it!

  • Beautiful quilt! Love HSTs.

  • I checked out your post with the other version. While I enjoy both colorways I prefer the straight-line quilting you used on this one. I think it makes the whole thing more modern, interesting, and crisp. It’s interesting the things you learn just from changing a few things in the same pattern.

I love the color combination and the contrast with the white. Your quilting highlights it so nicely.

  • I like the asymmetrical layout of this little quilt.

  • I love this! Really lovely colors and you did such a great job featuring them in a simple design.

I was so happy to see you quilt where you have used the “Family tree” fabric line. I have got some charm packs ready for a project and this design was one of those that I considered and it really does look good. I always have a hard time deciding on the quilting, and you have done a great job here. Hope you don’t mind if i pick up the idea!
